The Holy Bible is our guide. If its not there, we don't do it. Our pastor, Brandon Dyar's words: "When I step into this building that was built the same year I was born, I cannot help but be reminded that it is not this building, but our bodies, that Christ desires to inhabit. And when we all come together, having Communed with the Father and unity with each other… We are Community! There is a genuine love and concern for each other in our church and a desire to share it with other people. We enjoy Spirit - filled worship services, God - breathed and Scripturally - sound preaching, and the Liberty for each member to follow the Leadership of the Spirit. It is our desire for each member to achieve their highest potential in Christ by living their life based in the foundational principles in God’s Word and exercising the Gifts/Callings and abilities God has given them."
Mission Statement
… To lift up our Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ, Who loves us and gave Himself for us. He is the only begotten of our Heavenly Father, Whom we worship, praise and adore thru the Blessed Holy Spirit. … To help the Corporate Body of Christ fulfill the Great Commission in - 1. Preaching the Gospel to every creature. 2. Baptizing new converts and 3. To Disciple Christian people in the Word of God.
Community Covenant As faithful members of Community Baptist Church, we enter into Covenant with each other to fulfill our Christian duty as established in the Word of God. If a member of our church has trespassed, brought offence or reproach, by sin of commission or omission, We moreover promise not to judge (Matthew 7:1-2; Galatians 6:1), condemn (Matthew 7:3-5; John 3:7; John 8:11), or confront any other person with this offence (Proverbs 18:21; James 3:5) until we have gone directly to this individual and told them their fault between they and us alone. If they will not hear, then shall we take unto them one or two more Godly members, that every word would be established by the mouth of two or three witnesses. If then they shall neglect to hear, it shall be brought to the church. If the member with this offence does not hear the church, they shall be unto the Church as an heathen and sinner (Matthew 18:15-17). Furthermore, the Church shall gather together in the name of our Lord Jesus Christ, and with the Power of Christ, to deliver such an one unto Satan for the destruction of the flesh, that the spirit would be saved in the Day of the Lord Jesus (1 Corinthians 5:1-5). We understand that much prayer should precede as well as follow this order introduced by our Lord Jesus Christ Himself (Matthew 5:23-24). We are also fully aware that this is an act of God’s Mercy to restore such an one in the Spirit of Meekness (Galatians 5:22-23; 6:1), and that the Church has also achieved its obligation to intercede for our fellow-members in love ( 1 John 4:20-21). We will also not allow any member to converse with us negatively, or inform us about the faults, offences, trespasses, etc. of another fellow-member. If we are approached in this manner, we will take that person to the accused and so fulfill the principles of scripture (Ephesians 4:25-32; 1 Timothy 6:3-5) and our allegiance to this Covenant. If proper channels and authorities need to be addressed (Ephesians 5:21) in dealing with issues concerning church, we will use wisdom and discretion (Matthew 10:16; James 1:5) in manifesting the Peace of God in the House of God (Matthew5:9; Philippians 4:5-7).
Brief History We began February 24, 1967, as a group of believers with a thirst for God so great they baptized in the cold water of Limestone creek, met in a tent and moved up to a cleaned out chicken house.
Now we meet here
in a building with a paved parking lot, and a video system with 2 viewing screens in the sanctuary built with prayer and a dedication to serving God. We no longer have to baptize in the cold creek, we have heated water in the baptistery. We no longer get our shoes muddy and scratched.; we have our parking lot paved.
We spend our time with:
Bible Study
Old Testament The Ten Commandments are in Exodus 20:3-17 and Deuteronomy 5:7-21. Moses wrote Exodus and Deuteronomy. In fact, Moses wrote the first five books of the Old Testament: Genesis, Exodus, Leviticus, Numbers and Deuteronomy
New Testament For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life. John 3:16
